Running on biofuel for two months

Island Crusader has been running on biogas for two months now with a total of 700 running hours on LBG. So far, we experience good reductions in CO2 emissions. During this period, 128 tonnes of biogas (LBG) have been used, against 124 tonnes of LNG and 24 tonnes of MGO. Replacing LNG with LBG has so far reduced CO2 emissions by 372 tonnes.

Island Contender - in operation for Lundin Energy

With Rowan Viking in place Island Contender commenced operation for Lundin Energy as a support vessel for the rig last week. Island Contender had batteries and shore connection installed in December 2020, which combined with the vessel’s gas engines will reduce the emissions to the environment substantially.

Successful exploration mission for minerals

Island Valiant just returned after a five week expedition in the Norwegian Sea, drilling for core samples at the Mohns Ridge on behalf of The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) and operator TIOS. The project is characterized as ground breaking work; drilling with coil tubing at more than 3000 metres depth.

A Subsea milestone

Island Victory is currently working for Ocean Installer in the Barents Sea installing two subsea frames called Module L at the Askeladd field. This is so far the heaviest lift ever performed by an Island Offshore vessel, with a load of 175.2 tonnes (!) in the crane hook.

Walk-to-work contracts for Island Diligence

Island Diligence has been awarded two walk-to-work contracts in the last month, securing the vessel employment until late fall this year. Island Diligence has already started working for Trianel in the German Bight, where she performs walk-to-work operations on a wind park called Trianel Windpark Borkum II.
