24.500 metres of 84 mm chain

Island Victory just finished mobilizing for her first campaign in the Barents Sea. 24.500 metres of 84 mm chain was loaded, equivalent to 3.773 tonnes, as well as 16 anchors weighing 18 tonnes each. No other vessel can compete with this capacity - loading two complete anchor spreads in one go!

The anchors and chain will be used for two anchoring locations in the southern Barents Sea, where each line consists of about 1.500 metres of chain and one anchor.

In this photo 12.500 metres are already loaded on board while the remaining 12.000 are on the quayside.
