Island Offshore has today taken delivery of the Island Enforcer from Bergen Group, Lakevåg.
The vessel will go straight to a spot charter to Norske Shell where the vessel will utilize the vessels subsea cranes and the brand new 200hp Schilling remote operated vehicles (WROV) at the Ormen Lange location. Further the vessel has been contracted by Det Norske Oljeselskap through NeoDrill AS to perform pre-rig activity, consisting of installation of CAN (D:6m x H:12m –weight 80t) and conductor for at the Dovregubben field 6305/9-2,PL 468. The vessel is presently being marketed world wide for long term subsea construction work.
Island Offshore (IO) has awarded two new contracts to STX Norway Offshore for the building of two large LNG powered Platform Supply Vessels. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in Q2 and Q3 2012. The total value of the contracts amounts to approximately NOK 900 million. The hulls will be built at Braila in Romania, and outfitted at STX Brevik, Norway. The vessels are of Rolls-Royce UT 776 CDG design, based on the series of six vessels for Island Offshore, where four of the vessels already are delivered and working on long term contracts in the North Sea.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is an environmental friendly combustion fuel with NOx and CO2 emission far below any fuel oil based engine.
The newly developed gas-electric diesel-electric propulsion system for the vessels will have an effective gas tank capacity of about 200m3, corresponding to 10-20 day operation on gas alone depending on the exact operational profile. The gas engines are two of the new C26:33 series from Rolls-Royce. The new UT776 CDG is 96m long with a beam of 20m, and will transport all normal offshore supplies. The ship will also be equipped for oil recovery.

Island Frontier, Island Wellserver and Island Constructor have sucessfully done well interventions on more than 100 wells. The units are currently on contract for Statoil on Norwegian Continental Shelf (Island Wellserver and Island Frontier)and BP on the UK Continental Shelf (Island Constructor).
The units are performing well interventions yearround. Island Constructor has also been contracted to Shell to perform light well intervention on Draugen. An AoC (SUT) application has been filed with PSA and is anticipated to be accepted before commencement of the Draugen operation in September.
The number of well interventions is proof that the alliance between Aker Wellservice, FMC and Island Offshore that was initiated in 2004 has been successful.
Statoil Petroleum AS has declared first optional year on Island Challenger and is now firm until 7th. of September 2011. The vessel has allready completed 3 years of the contract.
TBN Island Enforcer will be delivered end of July 2010.
Oceaneering International Inc. extends charter period on Ocean Intervention III (Island Ranger) with one year. Ocean Intervention III is comitted until May 2011.
Island Offshore are pleased to announce that the MV Island Chieftain has been awarded a 20 months firm contract by the West Alpha Consortium, comprising of: Norwegian Energy Company ASA, BG Norge Limited, Petro-Canada, Centrica Energy, Nexen Exploration Norge AS.
The vessel will be operating out of Tananger, and will be performing supply duties including oil recovery and standby rescue functions for the consortium.
The Island Chieftain will commence her charter 15th of February 2010.
20.01.2010 - Conversion of M/S Island Patriot
The conversion of Island Patriot to the contract for StimWell is now in progress at Orskov Yard in Fredrikshavn.
The work started January 11 and the new prefabricated living quarter is already lifted onboard.
The job with this “phase 1” will continue until march 1.
